Buying a new car is exciting and stressful at the same time. We regularly have clients come in, looking for a car, but unsure of their financing options. At the dealership, we work with several different lending institutions to make car loans for people looking to purchase vehicles. There are a variety of options available and our sales managers work hard to get every customer the best deal possible. We understand that not everyone's situation is the same, and what might be best for one person may not be the best for another.
Know Your Budget
When coming to the dealership to purchase a car it is a good idea to know what your budget is. Although we have the ability to calculate what kind of payments you may be able to afford, only you really know how much you can comfortably spend each month on car payments. After you have determined what size payments you are comfortable with, we should be able to determine a price range and begin looking at vehicles.
Check Several Institutions
Dealerships usually work with several institutions. When our salesman helps you set up your loan, ask them to check more than one institution to ensure you get the best rate possible. While they may have done a loan recently and one institution had a better rate than another, it is possible that a different institution would offer you a lower rate. It is always a good idea to check more than one place.
Credit Score
If you are worried about having a low credit score, it may be comforting for you to know that most institutions are willing to make car loans to individuals with low credit scores. Because car loans are usually short term, and the car is easily repossessed, these types of loans are lower risk than other loans. Make sure you ask before you assume you don't qualify.
Buying a new car is exciting. By working hard for you, we hope to make it the best experience possible.
